Frequently asked questions

1What size should my source image be?

At least 512x512 pixels for good quality across all sizes. 1024x1024 is ideal for app store submissions. The tool downscales your image to each required size — it doesn't upscale, so small source images will produce blurry larger icons.

2Does it support rounded corners and masks?

iOS automatically applies rounded corners and masks to app icons, so your source image should be square with no transparency. For web favicons, transparency is preserved. The tool outputs raw square icons — the platform applies its own masking.

3Can I generate a web manifest from this?

The tool generates the icon files. For a complete PWA setup, you'll also need a manifest.json referencing the icons. The generated 192x192 and 512x512 icons are the ones referenced in a standard web app manifest.
